Tour de France 2010: Stage 10: Bastille Wha . . .?

Posted by bikezilla on July 14, 2010

Didn’t seem like the French guys really gave a damn about national pride on Bastille Day. Then again, they ARE French, so, what national pride?

Or maybe they all did celebrate it . . . by surrendering the stage right from the start line. I wonder if they all had cheese in their musettes? And why didn’t they all ride with white flags flying off the backs of their bikes? Or where the white flags saved for the guys who wrap them around their shoulders like capes and run beside the peloton in their underpants?

Aside from it being French “National Surrender Day”, not a lot happened.

The Bigs, including the wannabe Bigs like Lance and Levi, took it easy, recovering after a couple hard days in the Alps as they head toward the really bitchtacular climbs in the Pyrenees.

A RadioSkank rider who was neither Lance Armstrong nor Levi Leipheimer won the stage and all the RadioSkank riders tweeted the exact same series of messages . . . as if they were original thoughts.

Uh, guys, when Johan Bruyneel gave you that list of “congratulations” notes he wanted each of you to send, he didn’t expect that all of you would type them word for word. I think you were supposed to, you know, change it up just a touch so it didn’t look totally staged and maybe seemed like any of you actually give a damn about poor Paulino. But that’s just me.

In other RadioSkank news, Chris Horner, who unfailingly gives the best interviews and is actually analytical and insightful 98% of the time or more,
did another great one today
.

I’d embed the video for you, but can’t figure out how to do it from that site.
